Invitation to participate in National Workshop on “Capacity Building of LIS Professionals in Using the Open Journal System (OJS) for e-Publishing” during November 18-19, 2016 at TISS, Mumbai.

Greetings from TISS, Mumbai.
It gives us immense pleasure to inform you that Centre for Library and Information Management Studies (CLIMS), Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai is
organizing two day National Workshop on “Capacity Building of LIS
Professionals in Using the Open Journal System (OJS) for e-Publishing”
in collaboration with INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar during18-19 November, 2016.
The
purpose of the workshop is to develop an expertise by providing a
thorough training and hands-on experience on Free and Open Source
Software (FOSS) in general and particularly on e-publishing platform Open Journal System (OJS). This
workshop is intended to equip participants with skills for developing
their own e-publishing platform by means of intensive hands-on training
sessions (one to one system) by experts in the field.
Open Journal System (OJS) is a FREE and OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE used for publishing journals online all over the world. Currently more than 32,000/- e-journals are running on this platform.
Target audience: The
workshop will be of immense benefit to all those involved in developing
and maintaining e-publishing platforms, content management system etc.
such as LIS Faculty, Library and Information professionals, Information
Scientists, Content Developer and other with similar job
responsibilities.
Registration is limited to 25 participants on first come first serve basis.
Accommodation: Selected participants shall be provided FREE accommodation on shared basis to the outstation participants in the institute hostel. No travel allowance will be given to any participants.
