About the College
Prahladrai Dalmia Lions College of Commerce and Economics is the oldest Commerce College in the western (beyond Andheri) suburbs of Mumbai. The college was established in June 1972 under the aegis of Lions Club of Malad Borivli which is a unique project undertaken by them in Lionism.
The institution that started with 450 students has today become one of the premier institutes in the western suburbs. The college endeavours for academic excellence and promotion of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that promote resilience, creativity and leadership qualities among the students. The college lays great emphasis on inculcating in its students the importance of ethics, hard work and commitment to excellence.

Innovative Application of Technology in Libraries (NCIATL)”

Information is the key factor of any kind of research and development. Information is a fundamental resource which is essential for survival in today’s competitive and wired world. The information itself and way it is accessed have undergone changes owing to the development in information and communication technology. It is a vital ingredient for socioeconomic and cultural development of any nation or individual.

Information technology has transformed the whole world into a global village with a global economy, which is increasingly dependent on the creative management and distribution of information. Over the past decades the world has been experiencing significant changes in which the need to acquire, utilize and share knowledge has become increasingly essential. The library is the main information centre which can make use of the fat development IT for the benefits of mankind as a whole. The librarian’s preference of IT should include all those technologies which are expected to be used in the library activities/operations and other library services for collection, processing, storage, retrieval and dissemination of recorded information. The fast developing information technologies have showered almost every area of application including libraries. In case of Libraries, ICT is used in the following environment.

In the modern knowledge society Libraries have a new role to play in augmenting and distributing knowledge. In the modern society, where the use of electronic services and web-based information sources constantly increases, Libraries are managed in a more democratic way. Hence it is the need of the hour to study application of different Technology in Libraries. This conference will provide a platform to discuss various issues and challenges faced by Librarians in all India level. For the free and open exchange of ideas fundamental to democratic participation, the present conference aims lively discussion on various aspects of Library services in 21st Century. The papers presented in the conference will be published in the form of conference proceeding having ISBN.

Guidelines for Paper submission

1. The paper should not exceed 3000 words.
2. The paper must be submitted on A4 size paper according to the
following format:
i) File format : Word document
ii) Font style : Times New Roman in a single column format.
iii) Font size : 12 for the text, 14 for the title.
iv) Line spacing : 1.5
v) Margins : One inch (2.5 cm) all sides.
3. In case of Joint paper at least one author must be register himself/herself.
4. The co-authors must pay the fee separately for participation.
