You are invited to submit a proposal
for this preconference to be held in conjunction with the 82nd IFLA World
Library and Information Conference, Columbus, Ohio, USA, August 13-19, 2016.
Curiosity and critical thinking skills
are habits of mind that librarians, archivists, and museum educators strive to
develop and exercise in their students, researchers, and visitors. Material culture and special collections
encourage a multimodal approach to learning that can complement and extend
traditional models of information literacy. This satellite conference will feature
both practice and theory on the myriad ways in which primary sources and museum
collections can be integrated into instructional programs.
We welcome proposals from library and
museum practitioners, educators, and researchers from around the world. Topics of interest include (but are not limited

How to Submit a Proposal (Deadline
February 15, 2016)
All
proposals must be submitted by February 15, 2016, using the Proposal Submission Form. First-time presenters and new professionals are encouraged
to apply. Doctoral/Graduate students are also invited to participate. All satellite presentations will be delivered
in English. Notification of acceptance
will be sent by March 21, 2016.
Please
note
At least one of the presenters must
register and attend the satellite to deliver the presentation. All expenses,
including registration for the conference, travel, accommodation etc., are the
responsibility of the authors/presenters. No financial support can be provided
by IFLA, but a letter of invitation can be issued to authors.

Information Literacy Satellite will be made available online via the IFLA
Library: http://library.ifla.org/
The satellite is
scheduled for 1 ½ days (Thursday, August 11, from 8am-6pm, and Friday, August
12, from 8am-12pm, plus lunch). The
conference website will soon be available and registration will begin in
February.
