Recruitment for various positions of Teaching Faculty, Administrative and  Technical Personnel on Contractual Basis at NID Ahmedabad, Kurukshetra and Vijayawada

All the posts carries consolidated fixed pay and to be appointed on fixed tenure contractual basis. Applications are invited for recruitment of following positions at NID Ahmedabad campus and at NID PG Campus, Gandhinagar, as per the following details
Senior Instructor (Printing) / Coordinator, NID’s Print Labs.
Posting at : NID Paldi, Ahmedabad campus.
Educational Qualifications: Degree in Printing Technology (any specialisation) from a reputed institute in India or abroad with relevant experience of 12 years and above out of which at least 5 years should be in a managerial position in a medium-to-large printing press. The candidate should be well conversant with various forms of printing technology including pre-press and post-press related to hot metal, screen printing, offset printing, various post production processes such binding etc. The candidate should also be aware of emerging processes such as digital offset and various kinds of digital printing.
Candidates with a Diploma in Printing Technology from a reputed institute in India or abroad with relevant experience of at least 15 years (out of which at least 8 years should be in a managerial position in a medium-to-large printing press) may also apply.
Age bracket: 35 to 45 years.
Job Description / Responsibilities :
Overall coordination of various activities ensuring overall quality control of material produced within the Print Labs. Conducting classes and workshops/assisting professors in Printing Technology for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Day-to-Day job planning, scheduling and production supervision in the labs from prepressto operations to post press activities across offset printing, screen-printing, letter press/relief printing and binding. Estimation & costing of various jobs. Liaisoning with other departments & empanelled vendors. Assisting students and other faculty in their projects and assignments related to printing. Imparting on-the-job training of various divisions to the trainees.
Salary: Salary shall be in commensurate with the candidate’s present position, experience and present emoluments
Assistant Warden (Boys Hostel) at NID Gandhinagar campus:
The candidates holding Bachelor Degree from recognized university and having at least two years’ relevant experience as Assistant Warden/ Warden/ Care taker in the institutes of higher and professional education institutes or similar experience in Hospitality/ Health Care sector may also apply. Proficiency in communicating in English and Hindi is a must and the selected candidate shall have to work in the late evening/night and early morning from the hostel premises. The Institute will provide rent free bachelor accommodation in the hostel area/premises. The post is to be filled initially on contractual basis on a fixed consolidated salary in commensurate with the candidate’s experience and present emoluments.

The National Institute of Design, Vijayawada has been established as an autonomous Institute under the DIPP, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, since September 2015 at its transit campus, Acharya Nagarjuna University on Guntur - Vijayawada road. It has intake of 60 students per year in its four years under graduate programmes in three disciplines. The 2015-16 batches of students are undergoing second year discipline specific courses and the 2016-17 batches of students are undergoing Foundation Programme. Admissions for 2017-18 batches are also announced alongwith the NID Ahmedabad admissions announcement recently.
The National Institute of Design, Kurukshetra has been established as an autonomous Institute under the DIPP, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, from academic year 2016-17 at its transit campus is located at Umri Polytechnic Building, NH-1, Umri, Kurukshetra, Haryana. It has intake of 60 students per year in its four years under graduate programmes in three different disciplines. Academic year 2016-17 Foundation Batch has commenced from 15th November, 2016 and admissions for 2017-18 batches are also under process alongwith the NID Ahmedabad admissions announcement.
Assistant Professors / Associate Professors in following four disciplines:
The Institute offers undergraduate four years programmes in (i) Industrial Design
(ii) Communication Design and (iii) Textile and Apparel Design. The Institute invites applications from high caliber design educators / professionals having relevant qualification and proven experience in the areas of design in above referred three specializations plus (iv) Foundation Programme.
Faculty member at NID is expected to demonstrate a high level of academic and professional competence with leadership qualities; inclination towards design, research, publication and professional practice, proven ability with technological tools and processes, and active involvement in academic governance. Individuals having expertise in more than one subject areas shall be preferred.
Industrial Design: Materials & Processes, Form Studies, Elements of Design, Technically Complex Product Development, User Experience Design, Packaging, Rendering Techniques, 3D Visualization and CAD modeling, Digital Product Design, Design Ergonomics.
Textile Design: Surface Ornamentation, Print Design, Jacquard Design, Textile CAD-CAM, Traditional Textiles, Weaving.
Apparel Design: Pattern Drafting and making, Grading, techniques for Men’s and Women’s wear, Computerized Pattern making, Draping and Garment Construction for ready to wear, History of World Costume, History of Indian Costume, History of Fashion, Fashion Forecasting, Trend Forecasting, Garment manufacturing technology, Marketing and Merchandising.
Communication Design: Colour, Typography, Image making/ visual perception, Publication design, Narrative and Storytelling, Basic Photography, Drawing and illustration, Editing, Fundamentals of Animation, Fundamentals of cinematography
Foundation Programme: Freehand Drawing and Design Drawing, Analytical Drawing, Elements of Colours, Elements of Composition, Design Orientation, Design Process, Indian Art and Culture; History of Art and Design; Geometric Construction, Basic Materials and Methods, Combination of Materials, Space-Forms and Structures, Environmental Perspective.
Educational Qualifications:
- Post Graduate Degree / Diploma from reputed design Institute in relevant subject with minimum three years post-qualification experience.in the case of Assistant Professor and five years in the case of Associate Professor.
OR
- Graduate Degree / Diploma from reputed design Institute in relevant subject with minimum five years post-qualification experience for the post of Assistant Professor and seven years’ experience for the post of Associate Professor.
Pay and allowances: All inclusive initial Consolidated Gross Emolument of Rs.56,000/- per month for Assistant Professors and Rs.80,000 per month for the post of Associate Professors. The consolidated pay will be upwardly revised after implementation of the seventh pay commission’s recommendations in the Institute.
Age Limit: Preferably below 45 years in the case of Assistant Professors and 50 years in the case of Associate Professors. Relaxation in age limit may be considered for deserving and higher experienced candidates.
Administrative and Technical Posts both at NID Vijayawada and
Kurukshetra campuses are as under:
Administrative Officer:
Applications are invited from the experienced administrators with at least five years’ experience in establishment matters, general administrative matters including government purchase process. Retired officers from the reputed academic Institutes / universities from the relevant posts may also apply. The post carries fixed consolidated salary of Rs.56, 000 (under revision) per month.
Technical Assistant (IT Infrastructure and Networking):
The candidate holding Diploma in Computer Engineering with at least five years of relevant experience in reputed organization, having hands on experience in computers maintenance and network management should only apply. The post carries fixed consolidated salary of Rs.25, 000 per month.
Maximum Age limit – 35 years
Wardens ( Boys Hostel and Girls Hostel, total two posts):
The candidates holding Bachelor Degree from the recognized university and having at least two years’ relevant experience as Assistant Warden/ Warden/ Care taker in the institutes of higher and professional education institutes or similar experience in Hospitality/ Health Care sector may also apply. The candidate holding Bachelor of Library Science from the recognized University with at least two years of experience in reputed organization/ educational institute, having hands on experience of handling the library software may apply. Willingness to work in shift duties and communication ability in English and Hindi is a must. The post carries fixed consolidated salary of Rs.20,000.per month.
Maximum Age limit – 30 years
Assistant - Academic Affairs:
The candidate holding Bachelor Degree from the recognized University with at least two years of experience in reputed organization/ educational institute, having hands on experience of handling the academic / students’ affairs may apply. Communication ability in English and Hindi is a must. The post carries fixed consolidated salary of Rs. 20,000.per month.

Following Positions is to be filled for NID Kurukshetra only.:
Accounts Officer:
Applications are invited from the experienced, preferably recently retired Accounts Officers / Dy. Registrar (Finance & Accounts), Dy. Controller of Finance and Accounts from the Universities, PSUs, reputed professional Institutes of higher studies and well conversant of double entry Book Keeping, preparation of Annual Accounts, Audits, computerized accounting system, etc. The post carries fixed consolidated salary of Rs.56,000/- p.m. on contractual basis.
Following Positions are to be filled for NID Vijayawada only:
Design Instructors / Technical Instructors for Industrial Design Workshops, Communication Design Studio, Pattern Making and Garment Construction Workshop, Textile Design Workshop. (Total four posts):
Applications are invited from the Diploma/ Degree holders in the relevant subjects/fields of Engineering/Technology/Design/ Communication from recognizedinstitutes/polytechnics and having at least four years post qualification experiencein the relevant industry/ educational/ training institutes. Preference shall be give to the candidates having hands on experience of relevant software. Ability tocommunicate in English is a must.
